Georgetown College, Penang is the first of its kind in the region offering exclusive attention to the study of vocational training in tourism and hospitality. The College is located in George Town City for a singular reason, this is where it all first started, enabling the College to offer in-depth focus on “new tourism” disciplines.

George Town is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Penang, a long time jewel for tourists’ visits, is a living laboratory for tourism and hospitality studies and programmes. Its history, local colour, diverse races working and living in harmony, creative cuisine and multicultural traditions all make it an irresistible environment for study and discovery.

We strive to mirror this tourism wealth to the rest of the world through our educational intention and programmes. Our aim is to realise the potential role of tourism in the region and to promote a knowledge-based platform in development plans for tourism and visitor management programmes.

The overall objective is to raise the quality of people, goods and services in the tourism industries. Our programmes are designed to provide knowledge, skills and attitudes that will optimise the students’ employment opportunities in tourism, hospitality and leisure industries.
